Red River Valley Chorus Leadership

Red River Valley Chorus thrives in part because of the commitment of the people in leadership. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

       Mel

Melody Holmes, Director

Professor Melody Holmes comes to RRVC with a wide and varied background in music.  Having grown up with parents who were Salvation Army pastors, she learned to read music before she could write, and began playing trumpet at the age of three.  While studying Trumpet Performance at Asbury University, Melody had the opportunity to tour the world, performing for many audiences.

After the excitement of the show, she decided it was time for a change, and returned to school, graduating later with a Masters Degree in Molecular Genetics.  She is currently a Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Collin College, and has taught courses in Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology as well as authoring and co-authoring several textbooks. Melody is a Certified Director with Sweet Adelines International.
